Tjarko joined AlpInvest Partners in 2001 from the Firm's predecessor, Parnib, where he was responsible for buyout transactions and has been active in the secondary market since 2002. He started his career with NIB Capital, as an associate responsible for executing corporate acquisition and structured finance transactions.

Tjarko received an MA in business economics and a law degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
