Ruulke is Head of Carlyle’s Investment Solutions segment and member of the AlpInvest Board. She is also co-head of AlpInvest Partners’ Primary Fund Investments team and a member of the Investment Committee. Ruulke joined AlpInvest from AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets, where she was the Global Head of Real Assets Private Equity and a member of its Management Board. Prior to AXA Investment Managers, Ruulke was Co-CIO Investment Management and CIO Private Markets at PGGM, with direct responsibility for managing investments into infrastructure, hedge funds, structured credit, private equity, insurance linked securities and private real estate. Ruulke previously held several senior roles at ABN AMRO. Ruulke received an MSc in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam and is a CFA ® Charterholder.

Richard Dunne
Rich is a Managing Director and co-head AlpInvest Partners’ Co-Investment team with a focus on transactions in the Americas. He is a member of the Investment Committee. Rich joined AlpInvest in 2004 and has 15 years of related investment experience. Prior to joining AlpInvest, Rich worked in the Investment Banking Division of Citigroup Global Markets and he received a BA in Economics, summa cum laude, from Boston College. He represents AlpInvest Partners on several portfolio company boards as well as fund advisory boards.

Rob de Jong
Rob is a Managing Director and co-head of AlpInvest Partners’ Co-Investment team with a focus on Europe. He is also a member of the Operating Committee. He joined AlpInvest Partners in 2001 from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a Senior Consultant for Corporate & Operations Strategy, responsible for advising and assisting multinationals and governmental organizations on developing corporate and business strategies. Prior to PricewaterhouseCoopers, he worked for Ernst & Young Management Consultants. Rob received an MSc in Business Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Eric Hanno
Eric is Co-head of AlpInvest’s Primary Fund Investment Team and a member of AlpInvest’s Investment Committee. Eric rejoined AlpInvest Partners in 2015 from Partners Group, where he led its US buyout and distressed primary activities and served on the Investment Committee. Prior to Partners Group, he was at AlpInvest Partners, and prior to that he was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where he started his career. Eric is a CFA ® Charterholder and received a BA in Finance & Computer Information Systems from Colorado State University, where he graduated as an honors scholar.

Erica Herberg
Erica Herberg is a Managing Director and the Chief Financial Officer of AlpInvest Partners. She is a member of the AlpInvest Partners Board and Chair of the Operating Committee. Previously, Erica was Chief Financial Officer of Carlyle’s Global Credit segment and before that she was responsible for the Fund Management Operations of Carlyle’s Europe based private equity funds, based in Luxembourg and London. Prior to this role Erica led the Real Assets Partnership Accounting team in Washington D.C. office. She joined Carlyle in 1999 from KPMG, LLP. Erica earned a BS in accounting from Boston College, and has been a CPA in the state of Virginia since 1998.

Chris Perriello
Chris is a Managing Director and co-head of AlpInvest Partner’s Secondary Investments team with a focus on the Americas. He is also a member of the Investment Committee. Chris joined AlpInvest Partners in 2007 from Paul Capital Investments, where he was a Principal focused on fund investing. Previously, he was a Principal at Invesco Private Capital responsible for evaluating venture and LBO fund investments as well as direct investments. Chris received a BA in Economics, cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from The Georgia Institute of Technology. Chris represents AlpInvest Partners on the Advisory Boards of Ridgemont Equity Partners, One Equity Partners and Aurora Resurgence.

Wouter Moerel
Wouter is a Managing Director and co-head of AlpInvest Partners’ Secondary Investments team. He is also a member of the Board and a member of the Operating Committee. Wouter joined the firm in 2005 from The Carlyle Group, where he was a Principal responsible for investments in the telecoms and media sector. Previously, Wouter was a Vice President of corporate finance with JP Morgan and a Director of corporate finance for Lehman Brothers. He received an MSc in Business Administration from the University of Groningen and holds multiple Advisory Board positions, including Nazca Capital, AAC Capital, Lyceum Capital and Paragon Partners.

George Westerkamp
George is a Managing Director and heads the Investor Relations team at AlpInvest since 2011. He is also member of the Operating Committee. From 2000 to 2010 he was a Managing Director in the AlpInvest Co-Investment team, and from 2000 to 2012 he was also a member of the Investment Committee. George joined AlpInvest from its predecessor, Parnib, where he was focusing on middle market buyout transactions. Prior to his position at Parnib, George was based in Singapore, where he was responsible for the asset finance activities of NIB Capital in Asia. George received an MSc in Business Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Alexander Sprengers
Alexander is a Principal in the Investor Relations team focusing on our European clients and prospects. Prior to joining AlpInvest Partners in 2011, he spent six years at The Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO in Amsterdam and Hong Kong within the investment banking team focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions advisory. Alexander received a MSc in Informatics & Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Peter Cornelius
Peter is a Managing Director responsible for analyzing the economic and financial environment for private equity markets and examining the implications for AlpInvest Partners’ strategic asset allocation. He joined the firm in 2005 from Royal Dutch Shell, where he was Group Chief Economist. Previously, he was Chief Economist and Director of the World Economic Forum’s Global Competitiveness Program. Prior to that, he was head of international economic research at Deutsche Bank and a senior economist with the International Monetary Fund. Peter studied at the London School of Economics and the University of Göttingen where he received his doctorate in Economics. He has been a visiting professor at Leuven Gent Vlerick Management School and a visiting scholar at Harvard University. He is the author of International Investments in Private Equity (Elsevier, 2011) and a co-author of Mastering Illiquidity (Wiley, 2013).

Victor Backstrom
Victor is a Managing Director responsible for Investor Relations in Europe, based in London. He joined the firm from Brummer and Partners, where he was a Director working with European investors relations based in Stockholm and London. Prior to that Victor worked at Man Investments covering Nordic Institutional Mandates for 4 years based in Zurich, Switzerland. He has also worked at Accenture as a management consultant based in Stockholm, Sweden and Budapest, Hungary. Victor received his Master of Science in Business from Gothenburg School of Economics, Sweden in 1999.
Victor is employed by CECP Advisors LLP, an affiliate of The Carlyle Group.

Christophe Nicolas
Christophe is a Managing Director in the Secondary Investments team, based in Amsterdam, where he co-leads the European secondaries investment effort. Christophe has over 18 years of experience as a private equity investor. Christophe started his private equity career as a direct private equity investor at Permira where he specialized in investments in European technology and media companies. Christophe’s prior professional experience was in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and Broadview (now Jefferies) in New York and London and BNP in Hong Kong. Christophe received an MBA from Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris (“ESCP”).

Garrett Hall
Garrett is a Managing Director in the Secondary Investment team focusing on US transactions. He joined AlpInvest Partners in 2012. Prior to completing his MBA, Garrett worked on the AlpInvest Secondary Investment Team in New York. Garrett received an MBA from Harvard Business School with Distinction and a B.S.B.A from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Carolina Scholar.

Julian Rampelmann
Julian is a Managing Director in the Secondary Investments team focusing on US transactions. He joined AlpInvest Partners in 2011 from Warburg Pincus in London, where he focused on mid-market consumer and services growth investments. Prior to completing his MBA, Julian worked in the AlpInvest Secondary Investment Team in Amsterdam. Julian received an MBA with honors from The Wharton School and an MSc in Econometrics from the Free University of Amsterdam.

Michael Hacker
Michael is a Managing Director in the Secondary Investments team where he is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing transactions in the North American market. He is also Chair of the Investment Committee. Michael joined AlpInvest Partners in 2007 from UBS Investment Bank, where he was an Associate Director in the Private Funds Group responsible for providing secondary markets advisory services. Previously, he was an Associate in the Financial Sponsor Coverage/Leveraged Finance Group of CIBC World Markets. Michael received a BA in History, cum laude, from Williams College and an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Neal Costello
Neal is a Managing Director in the Secondary Investments team and a member of the Investment Committee. He focuses on European transactions and leads the European secondary sourcing effort. He rejoined AlpInvest Partners in 2015 from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, where he focused on secondaries and co-investments in Europe. Neal originally joined AlpInvest in 2003 in the New York office, and was ultimately a Principal based in Hong Kong leading the firm’s Secondary efforts in Asia through 2013.
Previously, Neal was with CIBC World Markets’ Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking division. He currently serves as a Director on the Columbia University Business School Private Equity Board. Neal received his MBA from Columbia University in New York and an Honors Business degree (HBA) from the Ivey School of Business at Western University in Canada. He is also a CFA ® Charterholder.

Amit Sachdeva
Amit is a Managing Director and heads AlpInvest’s co-investment effort in the Asia Pacific region, where he focuses on equity transactions in Asia and Australia. Amit rejoined AlpInvest in 2018 after about 3 years at Neuberger Berman in Asia. Prior to NB, Amit worked at AlpInvest for 8 years in our Hong Kong based co-investment team between 2008 – 2016. Before that, he was with JP Morgan IBD based in New York. He started his working career in 2000 as a supply chain management consultant in the US at i2 Technologies and LogicTools respectively. Amit received a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, a Master of Science from Northwestern University and an MBA with a major in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Broes Langelaar
Broes is a Principal in AlpInvest Partners’ Co-Investment team, where he is responsible for sourcing, executing, and monitoring equity transactions in Europe. He joined AlpInvest Partners in 2005 in the Portfolio & Risk Analysis team and moved to Co-Investments in 2008. Broes received a Master of Civil Engineering from Delft University in 2003, and an MBA from Erasmus University.

Erik Thyssen
Erik is a Managing Director in the Co-Investment team. He is a member of the Investment Committee. Erik co-founded AlpInvest Partners and has 25 years’ experience in financial services. Prior to co-founding AlpInvest he was with Fortis Bank Nederland, where he was an Executive Board Member responsible for commercial banking. Previously, he was at Generale Bank. Erik received an LL.M. from Antwerp University and has completed the CEDEP-INSEAD General Management Program. He represents AlpInvest Partners on the Board of Mediq.

Joeri de Groot
Joeri is a Managing Director in AlpInvest Partners’ Co-Investment team and focuses on equity transactions in Europe. He joined AlpInvest Partners in 2012 from McKinsey & Company, where he was an Engagement Manager, working in both the corporate finance and the strategy consulting practice mainly focused on utilities and oil and gas (service) companies. Joeri received an MSc in Applied Physics from the Eindhoven Technical University and an MBA from INSEAD. Furthermore he studied Econometrics at the Free University of Amsterdam.

Paul de Klerk
Paul is a Senior Advisor of the Carlyle Group and the non-executive Chairman of the AlpInvest Partners Board. He co-founded AlpInvest in 1999 and prior to that Paul was responsible for one of the largest corporate banking units at ABN AMRO in the Netherlands. Paul received an LL.M. in tax law from the University of Amsterdam, an LL.M. in civil law from the University of Utrecht, and an MBA from Columbia University.
